Trail of tribute: Memorial Day Hike for a Cause

Yesterday, despite the gloomy weather, we embarked on our Memorial Day Hike for a Cause. Our original plan to hike to Snow Lake was altered due to safety concerns, leading us to Cheery Creek Falls. The beauty of the towering trees, vibrant flora, and invigorating breeze was a true blessing. However, what truly made the experience extraordinary was the company we shared. As we journeyed together, we didn't just exchange steps, but stories, dreams, and aspirations. It was a fellowship fueled by a shared love for nature and a deeper connection to something greater, making us all feel part of a larger community.

The recently concluded event was held to honor those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom and blessings. Their bravery has paved the way for us to be more hopeful and inspired us to be passionate about serving others and value our lives. The hike was also to honor and remember the significant contribution of soldiers of the cross. Mario Betita Jr. stands out for his passion for the outdoors. Many young adults and even older members have been mentored and influenced by Mario Jr., and he has significantly impacted their spiritual journey, social life, and even their financial pursuits. His love for God, family, church, and excellence in his career has left an indelible mark in their hearts. His passion for the outdoors, genuine concern for others, and devotion to God and family are worth emulating. To remember and leave a legacy for this hike, we are opening the opportunity for anyone who would like to donate an amount to help acquire a piece of land for the church in Batbatan Island, Cullasi Antique, Philippines.

While we remember and cherish the sacrifices of the many heroes in our lives, there is one hero who chose to be a warrior to defend us and save us from our bondage of sin (Romans 5:8). Even while we were yet sinners; He died for us so that we could enjoy freedom, be saved from death, and secure our eternal life. Today, as we remember and salute those who have given up their lives as soldiers of the country and soldiers of Christ in His church, there is one who surpasses them all, Jesus the mighty warrior who has given His life so that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10).

P.S. Your support is crucial to our cause. If you wish to be part of this journey, to honor the soldiers and contribute to the church in the Philippines, please don't hesitate to contact Matthew Eusoya. Your donation, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference and is greatly appreciated.
